Hamilton "Masterpiece" quartz unworn, full set
The Hamilton “Masterpiece” line is one of the more unusual corners of Hamilton history because it was never a conventional retail collection. From the 1950s through the 1970s, Hamilton used the Masterpiece name for presentation and award watches given by corporations to employees for milestones such as 20- or 25-year service anniversaries, or to support special fundraising events. Many of these watches were not catalog models and often featured unique dial designs, special case combinations, company logos, or commemorative engravings.
For sale is a unique Hamilton Masterpiece presentation watch from the late 1970s or early 1980s, produced specifically for the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers (today known as the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers). The factory protective sticker is still on the case back, as the watch was never worn. For a presentation watch from the late 1970s or early 1980s, that is unusual. Many recipients either wore them regularly or stored them loose in a drawer, so finding one with the sticker still on is a rarity.
